Located on Carmel Valley Road approximately two miles east of Highway 1 and Carmel-by-the-Sea, our hillside is graced by stunning views of the Carmel River Valley and surrounding Santa Lucia mountains. CARMEL, CALIFORNIA

Carmel, founded in 1902, is known for its natural beauty and artistic history. The central area of Carmel-By-The-Sea has been a magnet for artists, poets and writers over the years. The quaint downtown area draws tourists and residents alike to its many galleries, restaurants, and shops.  The city is known for being dog-friendly, with numerous establishments admitting guests with dogs—among these is Doris Day’s iconic Cypress Inn.  Even the fabulous Carmel beach is dog friendly.

Carmel culture includes the Forest Theater with its charming theater set among the pines and  the Sunset Cultural Center. Sunset has two performance venues, meeting space, an art gallery, and is home to the Annual Bach Festival, as well as other performances, educational programs and classes. The Carmel Foundation is a non-profit organization that offers a range of classes, group exercises, speakers, bus trips to San Francisco, and other helpful resources and lunch options.

MONTEREY PENINSULA

The Monterey Peninsula is located on California’s Central Coast, a two-hour drive south of San Francisco and five hours north of Los Angeles. It’s a scenic and historic coastal destination welcoming visitors from around the world. The Peninsula encompasses the city of Monterey, as well as charming Pacific Grove, iconic Pebble Beach, and quaint Carmel.

The Peninsula provides many opportunities for shopping, dining, ocean-side walks, golf, entertainment, and more.  The world-renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium is located in the historic Cannery Row written about by John Steinbeck. Fisherman’s Wharf offers dining, shopping, and opportunities for whale watching cruises. As you walk along the shore, you will often see sea otters and seals frolicking in the Bay and, during certain times of year, you can even spot migrating whales.  A lengthy series of ocean shore paths and walkways start at the Ocean Institute, go through Lover’s Point and continue around the Peninsula’s tip to the sand-duned beach of Asilomar and eventually to Pebble Beach.
